Meet Michelle

Michelle is licensed to practice law in Maryland, Florida, and the District of Columbia, as well as U.S. Federal District Court in various jurisdictions. She’s practiced law since 2001 and specifically practiced family law for nearly 15 years with a “family first” mentality.

After graduating with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Government & Politics and Criminology & Criminal Justice in 2001 from the University of Maryland, College Park, she attended Emory University School of Law and earned her Juris Doctor in 2004. Conflict resolution is at the forefront of Michelle’s legal practice. During law school Michelle founded the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society where she was Director in its first year. She won the 2004 Georgia Bar Dispute Resolution Law Book Award and served as the American Bar Association Student Liaison for the Section of Dispute Resolution. As a member of the Emory Law Moot Court Society, Michelle honed her litigation skills. She’s developed an understanding of what works and what doesn’t in family law disputes through litigating countless divorce and custody cases.

Prior to practicing family law, Michelle represented commercial contractors in government contract disputes and served as Of Counsel for a Montgomery County franchise firm during which she pursued her Certificate in Franchise Management from Georgetown University in 2013. She is passionate about the environment, utilizing resources responsibly, and earned certification as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). From 2005 to 2006, she served as a Law Fellow for the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security in Baltimore focusing on public health issues both locally and internationally. Michelle is a meticulous professional who works diligently for every client. She appreciates the relationships she develops with her clients and strives to achieve the optimal outcome in her client’s best interest.

A Southern Maryland native, Michelle loves to spend time with her friends and family and enjoys traveling, time near the water, exploring new restaurants, adventures with her children, horseback riding, and home design.
